Coach Fiore has been involved in fast pitch softball for over 42 years
Fiore is the Assistant/pitching coach at Dominican College in Orangeburg, NY. Prior to that he served as the Assistant/pitching coach at Felician University for three seasons and William Paterson University for 2 years. Fiore also spent time as a volunteer high school assistant coach, splitting time between Pompton Lakes and Indian Hills.
As a player, Fiore has pitched Major and Class A fast pitch softball for a number of teams on the east coast. He was named regional Most Valuable Player while leading Presbyterian Boys Club to a Mid-Atlantic Regional title in 1994 and pitched in seven national tournaments with the New Jersey Windmillers. His pitching career has taken him to Canada and Mexico. Coach Fiore is still an active player in 2 leagues with his 2 sons.
Fiore is a retired law enforcement officer who spent 25 years with the Oakland Police Department. He and his wife, Karen, reside in Oakland and have five children.
Ashley Owens joined the Felician University coaching staff as a volunteer assistant during the 2018-19 academic year directly off of a successful four-year pitching career for the Golden Falcons. The following season, she was retained and elevated to pitching coach by first-year head coach Herb Melendez. She became a permanent, paid staff member in May 2021.
The right-handed Owens logged a record 661 2/3 innings in the pitching circle for Felician, more than 250 more than anyone else in program history. She holds Golden Falcon career records for appearances (127), complete games (66), wins (47) and strikeouts (374) as well, and shares the mark for all-time shutouts (8). Owens hit .293 in 82 collegiate at-bats, including four doubles and two HR's.
Owens was twice elected to the All-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Second team. As a sophomore in 2016, she also earned CACC All-Tournament and All-Academic honors.
A native of Lockport, N.Y., Owens was a 2014 Niagara Gazette All-Area selection for Starpoint High School. She completed a B.S. in management from Felician in 2018 and was employed as a graduate assistant in the Golden Falcons' athletics department while she pursued an MBA, conferred in 2020.
